This is the official website for the proposed class action settlement in Audrius Didjurgis v. Unique Insurance Company, Case No. 2024 L 14173, pending in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois.
The Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois authorized the Notice. It is not junk mail, spam, an advertisement, or solicitation by a lawyer. You are not being sued.
You may be eligible to receive money from a class action lawsuit (the “Action”) against Unique Insurance Company (“Unique”) for collection of subrogation payments. The Action was filed by Audrius Didjurgis and seeks payment of subrogation payments made to Unique Insurance.
The Action accuses Unique Insurance of violating Illinois law by sending deceptive, unfair and misleading demands for payment related to insurance claims. Unique Insurance strongly denies violating any laws and contends it complied with all applicable laws. The Court has not decided who is right.
Unique Insurance has agreed to pay $390,000.00 as the Gross Settlement Amount to resolve the Action. After Court-approved deductions, the Net Settlement will be distributed to Participating Class Members who submit valid claims, based on the amount they paid to Unique during the Class Period.
If you paid subrogation payments to Unique during the Class Period, you have two basic options: (1) submit a Claim Form to participate and be eligible for an Individual Class Payment, or (2) opt out of the Class Settlement. Claims must be submitted online or mailed and postmarked by September 7, 2026.
